It’s often over $1 for a bottle though, so many prefer to carry a few bottles around with them during the day, keeping extras in their car or desk. A lot of homes also take advantage of the convenience of having water at hand and ready to drink. Bottled water can be purchased by the case, often costing less than 10 cents a serving. This easy access to water has helped people get their recommended eight servings per day no matter where they are.

Water cooler jugs - Having a water cooler used to be just for the office, but many homes are getting in on the action with their own water cooler in the form of a countertop chiller or floor model. Many companies deliver full jugs and take back empty containers, charging a fee for cooler rental. There is also the option to purchase or rent your own jugs and get refills at the local grocery store. Some people buy a purifying jug that can be refilled with water from the tap.

Purifying water
